Working closely with on-site representatives from Schnabel Engineering, PGC used
state-of-the-art Obermann grouting equipment to closely monitor grout consumption and installation pressures.
PGC installed 136 temporary Tieback Anchors with loads varying from 50 kips to
180 kips for temporary excavation support on this project.
This project posed several challenges since the piles had to be installed under low headroom conditions and while the IceStone plant remained fully operational.
PGC installed 10 Caisson Piles with a design capacity of 80 tons in compression.

The primary scope of work included the installation of 24 each x 3” diameter, double corrosion protected rock anchors. The anchors were embedded up to 60’ deep in underlying bedrock and provided a design capacity of 615 kips each.
Peterson Geotech provided our technical expertise and key field personnel to assist Northeast Remsco Construction in the installation of over 200 rock anchors.

Excavation support for New York City’s 7th Avenue Subway was achieved through a creative use of micropile technology. Using duplex drilling methods with permanent steel casing and augers, Peterson Geotech safely installed 12” diameter soldier piles within 15’ of the tunnel.
12 Bored-In Piles aka Micropiles were installed on two separate abutments for a small bridge reconstruction project in Cayuga County, NY.
